The factors like shortage and abundance decide the rates of the fruits and vegetables.
In the Koyambedu wholesale market in Chennai, there has been shortage in the supply of fruits in the last 2 days. This has now led to increase in the rates of fruits.

In the same way other fruits like pomegranates are being sold at Rs 150 per kg, sweet lime at Rs 60 per kg, grape for Rs 600 to Rs 650 per 10 kg. It must be taken into account that in the past apples were sold at Rs 1000 per 23 kg, pomegranates for Rs 100 per kg, grapes for Rs 350 to Rs 400 per kg and sweet lime for Rs 40 per kg. On the other hand, the prices of vegetables have come down in the Koyambedu wholesale sale market. The vegetable traders have mentioned that the prices would increase from the middle of March.
