Panic reaction of Coronavirus: Hong Kong flight cancelled

Due to the panic reaction on the Corona Virus, the number of passengers from Chennai to Hong Kong became too less! So, 2 flights were cancelled. The Cathay Pacific flight arrives at 12.40 AM (post-midnight) at Chennai and then takes off at 2.00 AM to Hong Kong. Normally, this flight is full. Ence, larger aircrafts accommodating up to 320 passengers were being operated in this service. Presently, there is a panic reaction to the Corona Virus! So, there is a gradual but drastic reduction in the number of passengers to Hong Kong.
There were only 14 passenge4rs in the flight which took off at 2.00 AM yesterday! In a similar vein, there was very less number of passengers in the flight service from Hong Kong to Chennai as well!
Subsequently, these 2 flights were cancelled yesterday (Thursday, 20th February).
Subsequently, the 14 passengers from Chennai to Hong Kong were sent to Sri Lanka and then took the flight to Hong Kong from there!
When enquiring the officials regarding the resumption of Chennai-Hong Kong-Chennai flight service, they responded that the decision has to be taken depending on the number of passengers only, so nothing can be said for the present.
