Patrolling upped by Chennai police

The Chennai Police has upped security in the night time in the city with the view to minimize crime. It was decided by Police Commissioner S. George, Additonal Commissioner of Police (Headquarters)  V.A. Ravi Kumar and Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Karuna Sagar to increase night time patrolling.

Police would be stationed in 114 places between 9 pm and 11 pm to check for drunken driving. 60 patrol vehicles will be positioned in places that are vulnerable to crime between 11 pm and 2 am. All junctions that provide entry or exit to different districts will be patrolled between 2am and 6am.
