The Public Examinations for the +1 students in 7,400 higher secondary schools in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is scheduled to commence tomorrow (Wednesday, 4th March) till 26th March.
8,26,119 students from schools and 6,356 private candidates, a total of 8,32,475 candidates are writing this +1 Public Examination under the new syllabus.
As for the school students, there are 4,40,252 are girl students. 3,85,867 are boys. 3,016 examination centres have been set up for them. Along with them, 1 3rd Gender candidate is also writing this public examination.
As regards the Chennai Metro City, 46,779 students studying in 411 schools are writing this +1 public examination. There are 159 examination centres set up in the city for this. Out of the candidates, 25,335 are girls and 21,444 are boys.
As regards Puducherry, 14,779 students from 151 schools are writing this pubic examination.
44,500 teachers are being deployed for conducting the public examination.
For the students affected by dyslexia or a visual impairment, deaf and dumb, and other differently-abled, personnel have been deployed to write as told by them. These students have been exempted from the Language subject and an additional hour has been given for the examination duration. 3,175 candidates are availing the above concessions/benefits.
