The temple administration had announced earlier that this year’s Panguni Peruvizha will commence on 29th March with the sacred flag-hoisting ceremony. The most important festival of Chariot procession was scheduled on 4th April and the famous procession of the 63 Nayanmaars (Saivite Saints) on 5th April. The festival was scheduled to be celebrated for 10 continuous days. The temple administration was organising the associated arrangement/activities.

However, with the prevailing situation of acute coronavirus scare and associated prevention activities, the Commissioner Phaneendra Reddy had emphasised that the regular festivals in temples must be avoided in the next 15 days and also that devotees must be barred entry into the temple to have Darshan.
