As already announced as a precautionary action taken against the coronavirus spread, 144 has come into effect from this evening 6.00 PM! (Tuesday, 24th March).
144 will be effective from 6.00 PM today until 6.00 AM on 1st April.
Certain important regulations
- Petrol bunks will function.
- Ambulance service and hospitals will function.
- All district borders will be closed.
- Not more than 5 persons can gather at a single place!
- Government buses and private transport will not function.
- There is a ban imposed that not more than 5 persons can gather in a single place including tea shops.
- All Tasmac shops will remain closed.
- Permission has been granted to the government schools to work from home.
- Amma Canteens and Aavin shops will function in all places.
- Grocery and food shops may function. However, food has to be taken as a parcel. It cannot be eaten sitting there!
- Essential items such as milk or cattle feed, etc., can be taken.
- Apart from small shops selling essential grocery items, other commercial complexes and trading organizations CANNOT function.
- In order to implement 144, police in large numbers have been deployed and would monitor severely closely.
It has been appealed to the public on behalf of the police department that the public should cooperate whole-heartedly and any persons violating the 144 will be punished under the Indian Penal Code!
