The TN state health minister Mr. C. Vijayabaskar mentioned that by Friday, 27th March 2020, the exclusive hospital for Covid-19 patients at the Omandurar multi-specialty hospital in Anna Salai, Chennai would be ready to take patients.

He threw light on the installation of about 40 ventilators in the Omandurar hospital and about the presence of as many as 178 doctors, 192 nurses, 80 paramedical technical staff, 150 housekeeping staff, and security personnel in the hospital to attend to patients.

This hospital has got a total of 220 isolation beds, 130 intensive career beds, 38 ventilators, 24/7 emergency clinic, lab services, a team of electrical and civil people, generator back-up facilities and dietary services, etc. Point is out of total of 18 Coronavirus affected cases in TN, 16 have got travel history. The other 2 persons got infected because they came into contact with Coronavirus persons.

The health minister made it clear that he mentioned the progress of the epidemic all over the world and not about the community transmission etc and it was wrongly interrupted. The data has been available regarding Coronavirus cases since the 21st of January 2020. It was clear from the data that from day 45 onwards, there has been massive exponential growth. Government hospital on-wheels would deliver 2 months medicines at the doorsteps for those who have issues like TB, HIV, insulin-dependent diabetics, etc. The district administration would provide help to these persons in case they have any issues.
