The central government has announced that until the curfew/lockdown imposed continues, the toll-gate charges collected at National Highways, etc., are being cancelled!
Both the central and the state governments have undertaken various strong initiatives against the raging coronavirus spread.
Accordingly, public curfew has been imposed throughout the country from 25th March until 14th April.
Subsequently, all state and district boundaries were closed except the very essential, all other transports have been blocked.
In this situation, various political parties appealed that the toll-charges must be withdrawn.
Subsequently, the central ministry of Transport and Highways has ordered that from today (Thursday, 26th March) until the withdrawal of the curfew orders from the central/state governments, toll-gate charges are withdrawn.
The Central Minister for Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has tweeted in his Twitter account:|:
‘An order has been issued to withdraw the collection of toll-gate charges in the toll plazas throughout the country on a temporary basis.
This measure would help reduce the hardship in rendering all emergency services, and further, it would help save some critical time!’
