Presently, for every home, 12 LPG cooking gas cylinders of 14.2 kg weight are supplied per year at a subsidized price by the government. In case additional cylinders are required, it has to be procured at the market price only!
Indane, belonging to Indian Oil Corporation, supplies 30 Lakhs LPG cooking gas cylinders every day throughout the country. In this situation, Indane has announced that the price of the non-subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinder is being reduced for the second successive month!
The oil corporations fix the price of the LPG cooking Gas cylinder based on the fluctuation of the crude oil prices in the international market and the exchange rate of the Indian currency against the other currencies.
The price of the non-subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinder had been on an increasing trend since last August. In March, the price started coming down. Accordingly, in the Chennai Metro City today (Wednesday, 1st April), the price of the non-subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinder has been reduced by Rs. 64.50.
As such, the non-subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinder which was sold at Rs. 825, has now been reduced to Rs. 761.50.
The price of the same is Rs. 744 in Delhi, Rs. 774.50 in Kolkata, and Rs. 714.50 in Mumbai.
