Chennai police to make face masks for themselves for preventing spread of Covid-19

It is known that Chennai police are taking huge efforts every day to prevent spreading of Corona virus infection.

It is now brought out that Chennai police are now involved in making face masks and these masks would soon be distributed to the police personnel on duty in this lock down. For this work, Chennai police has roped in personnel from AR OR Armed Forces. Recently, Chennai policemen made sanitizers and caught the attention of many. 

For the purpose of making face masks, as many as 30 women personnel have been roped in from the Armed Forces. These who are trained in tailoring works have brought their own machines.

The face mask preparation work project has been funded by TN government and it began after Chennai police commissioner Mr. A.K. Viswanathan gave instructions. Important information is Mr. Jayaraman, ACP Headquarters HQ and Mr. A.G. Babu, JC Headquarters HQ would be involved in the daily inspection of the face mask making work.

An amount of Rs 10 lakhs would be used for the purpose of raw materials and the machines have been kept in the office of DCP, AR in Egmore. Men would be involved in cutting of the materials whereas women would e involved in the stitching works. Melt blown fabric would be used in making of the face masks.

Point is it is a fine mesh of synthetic polymer fibres that forms the important inner filtration layer of the face mask. By using these face masks, the user could breathe freely and inflow of infectious particles would be eliminated.
