The whole world has been turned upside down due to Corona virus issue and people are facing many difficulties.

In India, 21 day lock down to prevent the spreading of Corona virus is  on. This has resulted in shortage in the supply of essential goods like pulses and tamarind etc in TN due to lack of proper logistics. It is known that TN had shut its borders and as a result items from states like Karnataka and Gujarat were not available. This was brought out by a shop owner belonging to Thoraipakkam.

Information is TN gets tamarind from Tumkur in Karnataka and rava or sooji from Gujarat. Now, the price of these two essential commodities has increased as they are available in just small amounts in the markets. The shop owner threw light on how he was unable to go to Parry’s due to police restrictions.

It must be taken into note that apart from price increase many essential items have vanished also. There are difficulties in even buying biscuits, soaps, liquid hand wash etc. This was according to a resident of Tambaram. He spoke about how it was normal for the shops not to have hand sanitizers due to its high demand and how lack of snacks was unacceptable in this situation.

The prices of dal and oil have gone up now and this was as per a resident of Mylapore. He was unhappy about the price of atta and spoke about how the poor would not be able to withstand this hike in the prices.
