Sabarimala Lord Ayyappan temple: Corridors to open on 13th April - devotees not permitted!

The corridors of the famous Sabraimalai Lord Sri Ayyappan Temple will be opened on the evening of 13th April.

Poojas are scheduled to be performed for 5 days. However, Dewassam Board has announced that the devotees will NOT be allowed to enter the temple.

Due to the raging coronavirus pandemic, the festival of the auspicious ‘Panguni Uthiram’ during which ‘Uthira Arattu Vizha’ was to be performed was canceled this year.

Earlier, it was scheduled to open the temple corridors for the "Chithirai Vishu" festival occasion, but this was also canceled and the Dewassam Board decided to open the temple corridors for the Chithirai Month Poojas.

Accordingly, the temple corridors will be opened at 5.30 PM on 13th April. The corridors will be closed by 10.00 PM.

The corridors will be opened early morning at 5.00 AM on 15th April and the usual poojas will be performed. However, special poojas such as ‘Padi Pooja’ will not be performed.

The temple corridors will be closed at 10.00 PM on 18th April. Please note that devotees are NOT permitted during these occasions!

Dewassam Board has decided that even in case the lockdown is withdran on 15th April, devotees will not still be permitted in the temple!
