In Chennai, when going outside wearing masks is now compulsory

If you one among those who have been stepping out of the house in Chennai unnecessarily in this lock down period, then you must think twice now before coming out.

On Monday, the civic body stated that in the view of Corona virus situation wearing of face masks would be made compulsory for those who step out of their homes in Chennai.

It is important to note here that the lock down period has been extended in TN till 30th April and this was announced yesterday. The reason for extension was because of the rapid increase in the number of Corona virus cases in TN and Chennai. In TN, the number of Corona virus cases has increased to 1173 and in Chennai the number has gone up to 205(highest among all the districts in TN). An order regarding wearing face masks while going out has been issued.

It was pointed out by GCC that the residents must wear masks without fail when they come out of their homes with immediate effect and action would be taken for violation. Important piece of information is this order has been issued under Epidemic Diseases and TN Public Health Act.

The order mentioned about how when the people move out of their houses they have to wear face masks compulsorily. It added that the movement passes would be cancelled and vehicles would be impounded for 3 months. It is known that the movement passes have been issued by the authorities to help the people travel outside for essential purposes.
