It is known that the time between the months of June and September is Southwest monsoon period. This time period is the main rainy season for India.
It has been brought out by the Indian Meteorological Department or IMD that in this year monsoon rainfall would be normal.
In its first stage Long Range Forecast or LRF for monsoons, IMD predicted that southwest monsoon rains from June to September across India as a whole is likely to be normal. India’s economy depends on agriculture and high yields would be there based on the rains only is well known. Rains are also responsible for the growth and development of other departments also.
It was later revealed by Mr. Rajeevan, secretary of Earth Sciences that in the forthcoming south west monsoon season there would be rainfall for long time. Important point is normal rain is usually 96% to 104%. It must be noted that the date for the onset of monsoon in Kerala would be 1st June 2020.
The IMD has forecast that southwest monsoon would begin in India from 1st of June and it would last till October and in the state of TN this southwest monsoon is likely to start from 3rd June.
