DA frozen for the TN government employees and teachers

The government of Tamil Nadu has now taken this decision. It is important to note that the DA or dearness allowances for the TN government employees and its pensioners have been freezed till the month of July 2021. This decision has been taken because of Corona virus pandemic situation that created severe fiscal crisis.
Important information gathered is central government had previously freezed DA for its employees and now TN sate government has followed central government.
It must not be forgotten that earlier the TN government has stopped earned leave for the government school teachers and for the government employees. Now, TN government has stopped DA for its employees.
The central as well as state governments have been taking many steps in containing the Corona virus spread and lots of money has been spent on this. It was mentioned by the TN government order that dearness allowances or DA has been freezed till 1st July 2021 for TN government employees, government school teachers, government pensioners and family pensioners. The additional installment of DA that was supposed to be paid from 1st January 2020 has also been freezed. This DA would be given continued. It must be noted that the freezed DA amount would not be given in the future.
Important point is this order would be applicable for government employees, teaching staffs, non teaching staffs belonging to aided educational institutions, employees under local bodies etc.
The periodical surrender of earned leave for encashment for 15 days every year/30 days every 2 years stands suspended initially for 1 year to all teachers as well as for the government employees. This was as per another GO. It is worthy to mention that all surrender requests and bills pending as on date irrespective of the stage of sanction and disbursement shall not be processed.
