Around 2.80 Crores persons have lost their jobs in the United States of America due to the lockdown imposition.
Experts have estimated that this may increase to 4.87 Crores!
With the above alarming situation, information is gathered that more than 2 Lakhs persons, holding H1B visas and working in the USA, may lose their rights to stay in that country.
The Migration Policy Analyst Jeremy Newfield, while informing the Bloomberg News Agency on this issue, that these H1B Visa holders may be instructed to return to their respective countries.
It is noteworthy here that most of the H1B Visa holders belong to the Information Technology sector.
These visa holders reach USA and settling down, are facing numerous hardships! The main reason for this is that the H1B Visa holder’s employer who appointed must have agreed to pay the minimum salary.
There are prospects that even the concept of ‘work from home’ may turn out against the Visa regulations. 60 days time duration is available for the H1B visa holders who lost their jobs to find new jobs. These persons can either get a new job or may return to their country.
With the raging coronavirus pandemic, there are prospects that visa renewal may not be rendered possible even for those who have stable jobs.
An analyst, Doug Rans, has informed Bloomberg in this regard that this Visa crisis may create a huge destruction among the people (society) level and at the economic level!
In this regard, , the experts observe that this situation might have arisen mainly with the comment made by US President Donald Trump declaring that "the topmost priority is to secure the jobs for the jobless Americans while the Economy is back at full swing.”
