With as many as 138 persons from various locations of the Chennai Metro City being confirmed with coronavirus infection, the total number of coronavirus affected persons has now increased to 906!
Though both the central and state governments have been undertaking full initiatives to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the number of persons affected has been increasing every passing day!
Out of the various locations in Chennai Metro City, the maximum number of persons affected. 210, is from Thiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar zone.
In the Perambur Theettithottam area, it has been reported that through a single person who got infected, the virus has spread and affected 13 more persons! The single affected person was working for a weekly magazine, was visiting the hospital to see his father-in-law who had been admitted, and might have thus got infected.
Through a person belonging to the Royapuram Severn-wells area who is a GCC employee, the virus spread to his wife, son, and the neighbor`s child 2-years old! In the same area, through a60-years old lady who was infected, it has spread to 6 more members in the family! It is noteworthy that so far, 4 workers from GCC has been affected in the Royapuram area.
In a similar vein, in the Mannadi area, 12 members of 3 families residing in a multi-storeyed apartment building have been confirmed with coronavirus infection. They were residing in Venkata Iyer Street and they had attended final rites of a person living in the next street and might have got infected thus.
With 8 persons - traders, laborers, etc. - in Koyambedu being conformed with infection, their contact persons have been located and 400 contacts are being now tested for coronavirus infection!
Meanwhile, 4 persons from the Department of Police, including one of the Police Staff, an Assistant Analyst, posted in the Koyambedu wholesale market, have been confirmed with coronavirus infection.
With 2 persons at the Nungambakkam Police Station having been already confirmed with infection, it was confirmed that another 2 persons were also affected and thus the police station has been closed!
In this scenario, the Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner conducted a review meeting with the Experts Council recently formed by the Tamil Nadu State Government for their recommendations and guideline. The commissioner insisted they must all strive to successfully bring down the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and its spreading!
