Intensity of summer heat to reduce with prospects of mild / medium rain!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for mild to medium rain in the next 48 hours in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Coimbatore, Nilgiri, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Sivagangai, Pudhukkottai, Tirupathur, Thiruvannamalai, Theni, Thenkasi, Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukkudi, Thirunelveli, and Kanyakumari due to the thermal convection rain phenomenon.

It is informed that there are prospects of heavy rain with thunder and strong winds in the next 24 hours in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Thenkasi, and Thoothukkudi.

It is further informed that the maximum temperature of 40 Degrees Celsius to 42 Degrees, Celsius will be registered in the districts of Madurai, Thiruchirappalli, Karur, Erode, Vellore, Ranippettai, and Tiruthani. Hot winds are likely to blow.

Hence, the public and the farmers have been advised not to venture out between 11.30 AM to 3.30 PM for the next 2 days.

As regards the Chennai Metro City, it may remain partially cloudy. A maximum temperature of 37 Degrees Celsius around will be recorded and a minimum temperature of 29 Degrees will be recorded.

As of the last 24 hours, a maximum temperature of 42.5 Degrees Celsius has been recorded in Thiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu.
