Till now, the minimum pass marks for the class 10 has been 35 percent. Soon, it might be reduced to 25 percent. This was as per the school education department officials.
This news would bring huge happiness on the face of the class 10 students who would be writing the public examinations in June. All the portions of the class 10 syllabus could not be covered because of the total lock down in TN. This has resulted in many requests from many state run schools including private schools etc. It is now said that the government’s request comes against this backdrop of these requests.
It is known that public examinations for class 10 would take place from 15th June till 25th June 2020 in TN and more than 9.5 lakh students would be writing the examinations. The Centre has not allowed the authorities to cancel the examinations and as a result the TN is forced to conduct the examinations. This was mentioned by a senior officer belonging to Directorate of school Education.
He later pointed out that the Centre also did not allow them to just conduct examinations for main subjects like Maths, Science and Social Sciences leaving Tamil and English languages.
