Flyover work pending for years

A study conducted recently shows that flyovers that have been proposed as long as 3 years ago have not yet started work. Most flyovers are still under construction 2 years after it started. The flyovers identified were Korattur railway level crossing, Mint Junction, Vyasarpadi, Moolakadai Junction, Karaku – Ambattur, Korrkupet, Porur and Tirumanagalam.
The construction is overseen jointly by the Chennai Corporation, Southern Railways and State Highways, depending on the location. Some of the flyovers like the ones at Mint, Tirumangalam and Vyasarpadi have suddenly stopped construction and work is at a standstill. The one at Vyasarpadi costs Rs. 80.68 and work has been on since 2010.
