Three stands at Chepauk sealed

Following a stay order issued by the Supreme Court, the Madras High Court ordered that three stands of the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk be shut down. The move comes ahead of Tuesday’s match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Delhi Daredevils.
The sealed stands I, J and K can hold up to 12000 people. They had not yet got approval for the buildings but were being used for the current IPL tournament.
‘Over 12,000 spectators who (have) booked tickets (are) likely to be denied entry on Tuesday because of the sealing. TNCA plans to appeal against the SC order to ensure fans get
an opportunity to watch the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils on Tuesday’, said a TNCA official.
