Corona virus positive patients under home quarantine must follow the rules of social distancing and they must not venture outside their homes. There are many home quarantined patients who violate these rules.

It is now said that police action would be taken against these patients who do not follow the rules. This was brought out by Greater Chennai Corporation or GCC.

According to Mr. J. Radhakrishnan, special officer for Corona virus control, GCC, apart from the police action taken on those Corona virus affected patients violating home quarantine rules, these patients would be forcibly taken to institutional quarantine centres.

He then spoke about how GCC would be monitoring the behaviour of the patients under home quarantine and local police help would be taken for this. The violators of home based quarantine would be facing legal action also. Residents belonging to the containment zones in Chennai are not allowed to go out of their homes. Strict action would be taken if they venture out of their homes.

Truth is few residents belonging to K.K. Nagar damaged the barricades after their locality was announced as cluster containment zone and this took place on Wednesday.

The special officer for Corona virus control later mentioned that in Chennai alone 9000 persons have recovered from the infection. He insisted the people to wear face masks and maintain social distancing to avoid the spread of Corona virus infection.

It is now revealed by Chennai Corporation commissioner, Mr. G. Prakash, that ‘NO’ certificate would be required for those who have recovered from Corona virus infection to resume their work. He added that action would be taken against those organisations that stopped the recovered persons from rejoining their work.

Quarantine facilities are getting ready now for those with disabilities or physical issues. Information collected is 20 areas belonging to Tondiarpet and Royapuram would be converted into cluster containment zones.
