Nehru Stadium being renovated

Renovation work at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is underway. The work is being done at a total cost of Rs. 46 crores. The newly improved stadium will have an international sized eight lane athletic track which will be made of synthetic material. It will also have a sub base for a warm up track. The base will be situated at the rear end of the stadium.
‘The stadium is getting ready to host upcoming State, national and international sports meets, which are scheduled for the coming months’, said a Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) official.
