Important information about the longest 2-tier flyover in Salem in TN

In the Salem district, CM of TN, Mr. E. Palaniswami inaugurated the TN state’s longest two tier flyover and grabbed the attention of many. It is now said that this inauguration of the longest two tier flyover in Salem city would be easing the traffic issues.  An amount of Rs 441 crores has been used in the construction of this flyover.

In the year 2015, the administrative sanction for the project was granted and in 2016 foundation was laid is known. In 2019, chief minister of TN had inaugurated the first level of this flyover connecting AVR roundabout and Hasthinapuram junction. By this, the tourists were able to reach Yercaud road directly from Kochi-Bengaluru highway.

Just recently, the construction of 5.3km second stretch between Kuranguchavadi on Omalur Main Road and Anna Park got completed. The chief minister later named this flyover as ‘Puratchi Thalaivi Dr J. Jayalaitha Two Tier flyover’. 

Information is 1.28km flyover in the Salem-Bengaluru Highway near AVR roundabout would be called as ‘Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. MGR flyover’. Leigh Bazaar flyover was also inaugurated by the chief minister.

The two tier flyover is the pride of Salem and the new flyovers in Salem would be playing huge roles in easing traffic congestion plus in reducing accidents and in faster movement of public. This was according to the chief minister of TN. 

He spoke about how former chief minister TN Dr. J Jayalalitha played her role in the development of the TN states longest two tier flyover. Truth is it was this former CM of TN who had granted permission readily plus sanctioned funds and made sure that the projects began on time. Located 340 km southwest of Chennai, Salem is the 5th largest city in Tamil Nadu. It is known that Salem is also the 5th largest urban agglomeration in TN by population.
