Top engineering institute tag won by IIT Madras for a record 5th consecutive time

Indian institute of Technology Madras or IITM is always regarded as the pride of Chennai. For many years, this important educational institute has been producing many brilliant engineers, scientists etc who have been contributing for the development of our nation. This IITM is now making amazing news.
On Wednesday, NIRF or National Institutional Ranking Framework 2020 rankings were released. This IITM has been ranked number one engineering institute for the record fifth consecutive time. Not only that, IITM has also secured number one rank in the overall category for the second consecutive year.
It is superb to mention here that Indian Institute of Science Bangalore was ranked number one in the university category. The second rank went to Jawaharlal Nehru University and third rank to BHU Varanasi.
People belonging to TN must feel happy and proud that Vellore based CMC has been ranked third in the best medical college in India category. Best medical college in India that is number one rank went to AIIMS in New Delhi and Chandigarh based PGIMER got second rank.
It is important to note that Chennai based Presidency College has been ranked five whereas Loyola College has been ranked sixth among the colleges in India. First rank went to Miranda House of New Delhi. Important piece of information is among the private universities in India Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham got fourth rank and as many as 32 colleges in TN were listed in the top 100.
In this year, TN states universities like Anna University or AU and Madras University or MU got 12th rank and 22nd rank respectively. In 2019, AU was ranked 7th whereas MU was ranked 20th is known. Coimbatore based Bharathiar University was ranked 13th in the list released by NIRF.
Dr. Bhaskar Ramamurthy, director of IITM expressed his delight about IITM maintaining top position for many years in succession. He appreciated the efforts of the faculty members, staff and students of IITM. He spoke about how the path of excellence would be continued in the coming years also. The director of IITM concluded that making a mark nationally and internationally was important.
