The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, E. Palaniswamy has informed that the recent rumour regarding the intensification of lockdown conditions was false! Stringent legal action will be taken on those who spread such false rumours!

The Chief Minister inaugurated the release of irrigation water from the Mettur Dam for the Cauvery river delta fields. In his address during the inauguration of the event, the Chief Minister observed:

“8-lane road is a project proposed by the central government. The State Government of Tamil Nadu is merely assisting the project.

It may be noted historically that whenever new roads have been laid, they have been made from lands used for other purposes only!

The recent news that the lockdown conditions will be intensified in the state of Tamil Nadu is FALSE ONE! Stringent legal action will be taken on those who spread such false rumour.

Even countries which are super-powers find it difficult to check/control the raging coronavirus pandemic! It is rather sad that the public does not strictly adhere to the regulations imposed during the lockdown!

The people are yet to realise the full impact of the coronavirus spread! Most of the public do not wear face masks! The public must please refrain totally from roaming outside unnecessarily. Please cooperate with the government! The healthcare doctors are serving the public during these difficult times with divine dedication and sacrifice!

In this situation, the opposition parties utilize this situation with wrong strong criticisms of the spreading of coronavirus!

In case complaints are received regarding excess fees charged in schools, immediate stringent legal action will be taken!

Once the spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic is checked and under control, schools will be opened gradually.

As regards the charges for the coronavirus treatment, it is much lesser in Tamil Nadu as compared to the charges fixed by the Central Government!”
