Corona spread prevention: 192 ambulances set up for service in Chennai Metro City!

192 ambulances have been brought from other districts to Chennai Metro City/Districts and the neighboring districts for the activities on the corona prevention front.
Currently, there are 80 ambulances available in the 4 districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalppattu, and Kanchipuram where the intensity/impact of the raging coronavirus pandemic has been very high and still increasing over the last few weeks with every passing day.
To operate these, there are 240 drivers, and 120 emergency assistants are deployed on a rotational basis.
In this situation, as Chennai Metro City has been seeing an increasing trend of the raging coronavirus spread every passing day with huge numbers of positive cases, the services of ambulances are much in demand. Accordingly, 112 additional ambulances have been brought to Chennai Metro City.
In the future, 192 ambulances will operate in Chennai and the suburban districts. Each ambulance will have a doctor, a nurse, a laboratory assistant, and a driver.
Enough stock has been kept of the tools, kits, and equipment required for emergency treatments.
The State Government Department of Health has planned to increase the number of ambulances as per requirement.
