The General Trading Association has announced that the shops in the Chennai Metro City Thiruvotriyur area will be closed at 2.00 PM from today (Monday, 15th June).
Thiruvotriyur General Trade Association emergency meeting was conducted this morning (Monday, 15th June) presided by its President, V. Ramaswamy. It was strongly recommended during the meeting that various possible efforts must be undertaken.
Subsequently, giving due consideration to the welfare of the public as well as the traders, a decision was taken to keep the shops in Thiruvotriyur locality to open by 6.00 AM and close by 2.00 PM. And disinfectants must be sprayed in the shop before closing.
As such, even the vegetable shops also will be open as per these timings. The exemption will be given to the milk, medicals, tea shops, and hotels/restaurants to be open.
The Secretary of the Association, R. Murugresan, informed that a resolution was passed that the public in the locality has to cooperate with these conditions to buy materials needed with the above timings.
With this, over 1000 shops, trading agencies, etc., in Thiruvotriyur locality will function only up to 2.00 PM.
