The Chief Secretary of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered that this time, the 100% lockdown imposed from 19th June to 30th June must be enforced strictly.
The number of persons infected with coronavirus has been increasing in large numbers each passing day in the 4 districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Kanchipuram. As a preventive action against the severe, the spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic in these 4 districts, a 100% lockdown has been imposed from 19th to 30th June 2020.
Regarding this, the Chief Secretary of the Tamil Nadu State Government Shanmugam has given detailed guidelines to be observed and monitored by the officials in the above 4 districts:
- The security in the border locations of the Chennai Metro City must be strengthened and the multi-layered testing procedure MUST be strictly followed.
- The pubic roaming around the streets/roads must be completely curtailed by setting up street/road barriers, etc.
- The Police and the self-volunteers MUST strictly monitor the containment zones and isolated residences through the monitoring video cameras set up. Further, they must ensure that the residents of these areas get all the required essential items.
- Testing must be undertaken in the isolated houses and containment zones and those who show symptoms must be immediately tested. Fever camps may be organized in other areas. It is mandatory that those who have symptoms must be tested!
- It must be ensured that those who come for testing wear face masks. They must be tested as quickly as possible.
- In case counseling is required for the infected patients, consultants must be offered through psychologists/psycho-analysts.
- All the persons who had been in touch with infected must be identified within 24 hours and they must be isolated. The Police locate the persons with the ‘Arokiya Sethu’ App. The staff must advise the public that they should not hide the contacts - by locating them and testing them, it would help ensure that the spreading of the infection gets checked.
- The staff must emphasize that infected patients, while kept in isolation in the house, must wear face masks. He/she must be alone. Health-related guidelines must be strictly followed. Ensure that all required medicine, medical equipment/items. kits, face masks, etc., are provided immediately without any difficulty. The body condition of the infected must be strictly monitored.
- Stringent immediate action must be taken against those who violate the guidelines.
- Staff must be deployed for the monitoring of the surveillance cameras set up in the containment zones and isolated houses. Violations can be detected by using the Apps on the cell phone!
- Daily survey/analysis must be done in these zones and those with symptoms must be tested immediately.
- It is indeed essential that senior citizens and persons with other complaints are monitored closely.
- The officials must check and confirm that all activities preventing the spread are being executed!
- Waiting time for the testing laboratories must be reduced to the minimum. While admitting patients in COVID wards, they must not be kept waiting for long durationon`s. Allotting beds must be organized jointly with private hospitals.
- Patients must be kept under intense monitoring and necessary treatment or consultation must be given when required.
