The solar eclipse of a longer duration commenced this morning (Sunday, 21st June) at 10.00 AM!
This solar eclipse is the largest for this current year - known as ‘Kangana Sooriya graham’. It is set to conclude at 1.42 PM.
Today’s solar eclipse is a very rare event, occurring once in 10 years, when ‘a ‘fire-ring’ is seen on the sky when the shadow of the moon falls on the sun almost covers it leaving a glowing fire-ring on the exterior! This can be seen in India.
The public can watch this ‘Kangana Sooriya Grahanam’ in several places in Tamil Nadu State including Chennai and Vellore.
However, information is given that solar eclipse can be seen only to the extent of 40% in Tamilnadu.
IT HAS BEEN STRONGLY ADVISED AND WARNED THAT THIS SOLAR ECLIPSE ON THE SKY MUST NOT BE SEEN WITH NAKED EYES.
Further, people are advised NOT TO VENTURE OUT during the eclipse period.
