The State of Tamil Nadu has extended the lockdown again - until 31st July - the 6th Phase of the lockdown sessions.
Of course, this lockdown also comes with certain relaxations and certain regulations to be followed strictly!
- The Chief Minister of the State of Tamil Nadu, E. Palaniswamy, has released the order extending the lockdown imposition until 31st July (midnight).
- The current total (100%) lockdown in the Chennai Metro City under the police jurisdiction will continue until 5th July.
- From 5th July, on all 4 Sundays during the month of July, 100% lockdown is imposed without any relaxation!
- 100% lockdown is imposed in Madurai and its surroundings. Until 5th July.
- Both government and private bus transport between the districts are also topped from 1st July to 15th July on a temporary basis.
- In the village areas, the temples, churches, and mosques with annual incomes of under Rs. 10000 are allowed to be open and devotees/worshippers are allowed in.
- In all the metro, city, and town corporations, all worshipping places will continue to follow the present
- 100% strict lockdown imposition without any relaxation will be observed as per the rules and regulations.
- Information Technology Organisations will be permitted to function with a maximum of 80 employees from 6th July.
- This order will be applicable to the other 3 districts - Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Kanchipuram, where 100% of lockdown conditions are prevailing already.
- All large shops except the commercial complexes can function with 50% of employees from 6th July.
- Air-conditioners will not be allowed to operate in hotels and restaurants from 6th July
