All the monuments and archaeological centers under the scrutiny of the Central Archaeological Department will function from tomorrow (6 July) says the union government. This relaxation enables the function of the archaeological department workers.
There are 3,691 archaeological centers including historical symbols, palaces that are under the control of the central archaeological department. These monuments were closed to follow the lockdown implemented against the coronavirus. Then, on 8 June, 520 such archaeological spots were opened with relaxation on certain zones. While all the archaeological centers and monuments shall function from tomorrow says the central archaeological department. But the ministry advises the officials to strictly follow the precautionary measures enforced by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Home affairs.
Anyhow, when the announcement was asked to the officials in Chennai, they said that the Tamil Nadu government rejected the order since the COVID spread is incredible in the city. Hence, the historical centers of Mamallapuram and Tanjavur Periya kovil will remain closed.
