All the banks will resume functioning as per normal timings in Chennai Metro City (Districts) and the other 3 districts of Thiruvallur, Chingleput, and Kanchipuram.
The bank officials have informed that the account holders can transact at the bank premises from today (Monday, 6th July).
As 100% lockdown had been imposed on the above 4 districts as a preventive measure against the raging spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the banks during this period were functioning with 33% staff until 2.00 PM.
As the 100% lockdown imposed concluded yesterday (Sunday, 5th July), the banks will function with 50% staff and will function and open for the customers from 11.00 AM to 4.00 PM.
Meanwhile, as the 100% lockdown imposed in Madurai district has been extended until 12th July, a notification has been released that the banks here will function only until the afternoon. Note that the public banking services will not be available until the 100% lockdown concludes.
