The government of Tamil Nadu has implemented a new scheme to pamper the home quarantined people with medical and psychological assistance. Currently, the state is witnessing a large number of positive cases and the scarcity in hospital beds. Hence, minor infected people have decided to quarantine themselves at home. At this juncture, many of the private hospitals have attempted to provide value-added services to the home quarantines that cost between 3,000 and 30,000.

To help people, the government has initiated the Amma COVID Homecare scheme that will assist home quarantines. This scheme is provided under the free full check-up scheme of the Omandurar Multi-speciality hospital. As per this scheme, the home quarantined people will be given a casket that will contain corona treatment and supervision materials at a cost of 2,500. This policy includes providing services of nursing and medical and psychological advice.

The medical casket consists of Pulse-oximeter that helps to find out the heartbeat and oxygen rate in the body, Digital thermometer, and tablets such as Vitamin C, Zinc, Vitamin D, Kabasura kudineer, athimathuram powder for immunity and Amukkara tablets for body wellness for a period of 14 days. Additionally, the kit consists of masks, soaps, and corona guidelines booklet.

Moreover, the psychologist will provide counseling to the home quarantines to help them recover mentally. Psychologists and doctors will talk to the home quarantines through video calling and provide them remedies to cure. The ministry of health in this way assures the perfect treatment of the positive cases treated at their doorstep.
