Chennai to get rains in the evenings & nights

The Meteorological department has predicted that for the next 48 hours the condition of the sky is likely to be cloudy and there would be light rains in some places in Chennai.

According to Mr. Puviarasan, director IMD, for 2 more days in Chennai there would be rains. He added that there would be a gap on 18th July and on 19th July and the rains would resume once again. Wind convergence is expected to bring rains in the coastal areas. There would be strong winds and hence the fishermen should not venture into the sea near Andhra coast.

On Tuesday, Chennai was cloudy but there were no rains. In some suburban places in Chennai, it rained on Monday night. Korattur received 2cms rain and Marakanam on ECR received 1cm rain. 

In the core places in the Chennai city, the day temperature was lowered by 3.5 degrees Celsius due to the cloudy sky and in the suburban places the day temperature was lowered by 4.2 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperature of 32 degrees Celsius has been recorded at Nungambakkam and Meenabakkam recorded 31.6 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature would be 35 degrees Celsius and this was as per the meteorological department. Since 1st of June, Chennai city has received 15% surplus rains for the southwest monsoon season. This has been due to the rains in the evenings and in the nights. Important information is against the usual expected rain of 109,8mm, Chennai city has now got surplus rains of 126.7mm rains.
