In Tamil Nadu, huge crowding takes place at the ration shops and no social distancing is followed is well known. To prevent this from happening, the state government has decided this.

The news is soon mobile ration shops in TN would be delivering groceries to the people at their houses. Information collected is soon mobile ration shops with stacks of rice, sugar, dal, sachets of edible oil etc and carrying staff with point of sale or PoS devices might be crisscrossing the roads.

To take the commodities to the doorsteps of the houses in TN, the state government inside w week might roll out as many as3501 mobile ration shops across TN. Currently, working out of logistics has been going on by the cooperatives department and it includes renting out vehicles to supply goods to the needy places. It is now said that there has been more demand to supply the essentials at the doorsteps rather than tackling the crowd at the ration shops.

There has been an increase in the number of ration card holders in TN and there were many requests from the elected representatives and public for new ration shops due to more card holders. This was brought out by Mr. Sellur Raju, cooperative minister.

He explained about how there were issues in getting ration by the families living in the hilly places plus how the card holders crowded at PDS outlets in TN.
