The Department of School Education of the Tamil Nadu State Government had conducted the re-examination for the students of the 12th Standard (+2) who had not attended the final day’s public examination on 24th March (as the lockdown was imposed by the central and state governments as a preventive action against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic) on Monday, 27th July.
Subsequently, the department of school education has taken necessary actions to evaluate the answer-sheets in just 2 days and declare the results within 2 days.
It is learned from the reliable sources that out of the 846 students who desired to write the re-examination, 519 candidates appeared to write the same. The subjects of this left-out public examination by some students were - Chemistry, Accountancy, and Geography.
This re-examination, as mentioned above, was conducted on Monday, 27th July - in lieu of the final day’s public examination which was scheduled on 24th March - but some students missed writing the examination due to coronavirus/lockdown situation and the restrictions thereby. With this valid reason, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy had announced that the students who missed the exam would be given another opportunity.
Tamil Nadu State Minister for School Education, KA Sengottaiyan had informed that in a statement that the exam WOULD NOT BE HELD in schools LOCATED IN CONTAINMENT ZONES
As for students who are living in containment zones, provisions will be made for them to take up the exam in a separate room in the examination center.
The minister added that all the students will be writing the exam in their own respective schools.
