A meeting held to come up with solutions to tackle the looming water crisis in the State was held on Monday. The meeting was chaired by Collector P. Sankar. It was decided to sink deep bore wells, set up small water pumps, infiltration wells, o,ver head tanks and also to repair pipelines and existing water works.
‘As many as 205 works at a cost of Rs 5 crore would be implemented in 16 town panchayats to tackle water shortage during summer… Out of the 143 works at a cost of Rs 3.67 crore since January this year, 109 had been completed’, Assistant Director of the town panchayats, Malaiyaman Thirumudikari.
