This month (September) is the last month to avail the free LPG cooking gas cylinder under the Prime Minister’s Ujjwala Yojana.
The central government has been distributing free LPG cooking Gas Cylinders in this month of September to the families holding the BPL (Below Poverty Line) family ration card.
Prime Minister’s Ujjwala Yojana was started in the year 2016. Crores of low-income and poor citizens have benefited from this scheme to date.
The majority of the population, with very poor citizens are already suffering severely from the prevailing raging coronavirus pandemic and the central and state governments’ preventive measure of lockdown imposition bringing their lifeline under peril! As such, it is only proper that the lower economic cadre of the population is benefiting from this free LG cooking Gas Cylinder Scheme.
Due to the prevailing lockdown situation as a preventive measure against the raging coronavirus pandemic, the central government, which had fixed the time limit for the above scheme only until April had later extended the time limit until September.
As such, this is the last month where the people as per the above-mentioned cadre can enjoy the benefits of the Ujjwala Yojana Scheme.
The main objective of this scheme is to convert all categories of families under different economic levels to change over to LPG cooking gas cylinder usage. Gas cylinder usage causes very much less pollution as compared to fuels such as wood, etc.
Special attention is being given to the implementation of this scheme jointly organised by the central ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
Any female member with the BPL family ration card can apply under this scheme. For this, the person has to fill up a KYC (Know Your Customer) Form and submit the same in the nearest LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) Centre. Some documents are required for registering this application.
Once furnishing the same, one can join the Ujjwala Yojana Scheme and get the LPG cooking Gas Cylinders quite easily.
Documents required:
Mobile Phone Number, a Passport Size Photograph, BPL family ration card, Aadhar card, age-proof, the name being printed in the BPL list, a Xerox copy of the bank passbook, and a copy of the family ration card.
