The Central Government is all set to discuss today (Tuesday, 8th September) with the owners 0of the film theatres to decide on the resumption of the film theatres all over the country.
This discussion is being organised as a video-conference by the Depart of the Disaster Management functioning under the Central Home Ministry. Earlier, invitation was extended only to the representatives of the film theatres only from the Northern region and no invitation was extended to the southern representatives. This became an issue! Subsequently, invitations were sent to the southern representatives.
It is gathered that a decision will be taken on the reopening date for the film theatres. As the film theatres have remained closed over the past five-and-a-half months due to the lockdown imposition by the central and the state governments as a preventive measure against the raging coronavirus pandemic, the film industry has been constrained to incur a colossal loss of over tens of thousands of Crores of Rupees!
As such, the owners of film theatres have been pressing their demand to permit reopening of the film theatres with restrictions!
