Anna University has announced that the students of the engineering courses can now write the final semester examination right from home!
Normally, the final semester examinations for all engineering courses are scheduled to be conducted during the months of April-May. However, this year, these final semester examinations had to be cancelled and postponed due to the raging coronavirus pandemic as a preventive measure against its spread by both the central and state Governments.
In this situation, Anna University has now announced that the engineering students can now write the final semester examinations online from their residences from 22nd September to 29th September.
Anna University Examination Regulatory Authority Venkatesan has sent a circular in this regard. As per the circular, the students can write online examinations through desktop computers, laptop computers, tablets, and cell-phone with the help of camera and headphone. The question papers will all are objective type.
Anna University has further announced that in order for the students to prepare better for this online final semester examinations, training examinations will be conducted online. The detailed timetable and the guideline fort he final online semester examinations will be announced shortly on the official website of Anna University.
Anna University has further announced that in order to prevent the students from indulging in malpractices such as copying, Artificial Intelligence-based technology will be adopted during these proposed online final semester examinations for the engineering courses.
If the students turn their faces away from their own monitors in other directions, a 1st time-warning will be issued. And if this continues, negative marks will be awarded. Further violations may lead to eviction from the examination hall/centre.
At the same time, software arrangements have made such that the students cannot enter any other website during the writing of the examinations.
