The Thirumalai-Tirupathi Devasthanam Board (TTD) has appealed to the devotees NOT TO UNDERTAKE ‘PADAYEATRA’ (OR TRAVEL BY FOOT UP TO THE TEMPLE FOR DARSHAN OF THE Lord Venkateswara).
The Tamil Calendar month of ‘Purattasi’ is traditionally considered to be an extremely holy month and especially so far the Lord Srinivasa at the Tirupathi temple.
It is also traditional for a large number of devotees from Tamil Nadu State to undertake a pilgrimage travelling by foot (known as ‘padayatra’) to Tirupathi for the Darshan of their favourite Lord Venkateswara.
However, with the prevailing coronavirus pandemic crisis, TTD has appealed to these devotees not to undertake padayatra in this period.
