Bio-metric system is set to be introduced in al ration shops from 1st October.
The Tamil Nadu State Government Department of Food Items Distribution has informed that the new sales registering equipment will be installed in place of old one enabling sales of essential food items through fingerprint registration.
It is also informed that all ration shop staff have been trained to handle the new equipment.
With the setting up of the above new biometric system, only one of the members registered in the smart family ration card will be given the bought essential ration items!
