A low-pressure zone is likely to form over the section of Andaman Sea on 14th October.
The Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre Puviyarasan shared regarding the above:
“A low-pressure zone was formed and prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the adjacent Central-east Bay of Bengal on Friday, 9th October. This has now intensified and formed into a strong depression over the central-east Bay of Bengal and the adjacent North Andaman Sea as on Saturday, 10th October.
Further, there is a cyclonic format prevailing over the South Andhra Coastal area. Due to this, there are prospects for medium rain in a few places in the State of Tamil Nadu today (Sunday, 11th October).
Further, there are prospects for heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the 7 Tamil Nadu districts of Erode, Nilgiri, Vellore, Thirupathur, Coimbatore, Krishnagiri, and Salem.
Further, there are indications that another new low-pressure zone to form over the Andaman Sea on 14th October.”
