Modernising Education- In TN, smart classrooms to be set up in 7500 schools

Soon, 7500 schools in TN would have smart classrooms and this would be done to modernise education in the schools. Point is that the classrooms would have 80,000 smart boards. This was brought out by Mr. K.A Sengottaiyan, school education minister on Wednesday.
He spoke about how the objective was to remove blackboards from the classes in another 2 years. He made his presence felt in a private school to grant an extension of government recognition to 275 matriculation schools including 61 government aided schools in Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupathur and Tiruvannamalai.
Several measures were taken by the TN government towards school development and these were appreciated by the PM of India are well known. The school education minister later hinted that more than 15.5lakhs students have joined the schools in TN. He pointed out that another 3 lakhs students have joined from private schools and it was because of the fact that the government school education was on par with those of private schools.
It is important to note that the TN government had provided free laptops to the 52.48 lakhs government school students in a bid to make sure that the government school students were on par with those belonging to other states in India. Truth is that in no other sate this had happened.
The minister later threw light on 4.80 lakhs students who were trained in ICT or information and communication technology. By this, the students of high and higher secondary schools would be able to download information from school computer systems onto their laptops for study purposes.
As many as 1000 students in TN are being given free training for CA or Chartered Accountant courses to meet the shortfall of CAs in India. The school education minister then appreciated the private channels for beaming state’s ‘Kalvi’ channel. He made it clear that reopening of the schools would not be there in TN any time soon due t Covid-1 pandemic. In AP, reopening of the schools has resulted in more number of Covis-19 cases is well known.
It must be noted that the director of matriculation schools, Mr. A. Karupuswamy welcomed the gathering and those present included TN ministers Veeramani and Nilofer Kafeel, school education secretary Mr. Dheeraj Kumar, school education commissioner, Mr Venkatesh.
Others who made their presence felt were MLAS Mr. S. Ravi, Mr. G. Sampath, Mr. G. Loganathan, Katpadi PTA Mr. Appu, Mr. Anandhan, Vellore Sugar Mill chairman and Mr. V. Ramu, Vellore Central Cooperative Bank chairman.
