Entrepreneurs can apply for loans under the NEEDS Scheme!

The Chennai District Collector Seethalakshmi has announced that the new eligible entrepreneurs can apply for loans under the scheme ‘NEEDS’ – NEW ENTREPRENEUR EMPOWERMENT DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (NEEDS).
In a notification regarding this released by the Chennai District Collector, it is mentioned:
“The New Entrepreneurs, Industries Development Scheme to facilitate the male & female graduates to become entrepreneurs, the New Entrepreneurs Development Scheme – for loans dispersal has been functioning under the State Government of Tamil Nadu from the year 2012-13.
The entrepreneurs interested in seeking loans from this scheme must have completed any of the following: graduation, diploma courses, OR ITI (Industrial Training Institute Certificate course).
As on the date of application, the applicants belonging to Ancient Tribes, Scheduled Castes/Tribes/Backward/Most backward community, women, third gender persons, differently-abled and the ex-military personnel must be under the age of 45years. Candidates under the open common category must be under 35 years of age. The candidates must have been living in Tamil Nadu at least for 3 years. It is essential that the candidates must be 1st generation entrepreneurs.
Loans from this scheme can be availed by the by the manufacturing/servicing industries with the project evaluation of minimum Rs. 10 Lakhs to a maximum of Rs. 5 Crores. Under this scheme, the industries such as service category – gyms, beauty parlours, hospitals, Xerox, small cafeterias, dentistry clinics, building/construction equipment, JCB equipment services can be set up.
Further, the manufacturing industry making products through machinery can also be started. A target of loan dispersal up to Rs. 472 Lakhs as subsidies have been set for the current financial year 2020-21 for the Chennai District.
Hence, candidates interested in becoming an entrepreneur with the above qualifications 1st Generation Personnel – both men & women – can visit the website: www.msmeonline.tn.gov.in/needs and register, and fill up the application and submit with 2 copies of the application with all the requisite documents/certificates attached and submit the same to the office of the Zonal Joint Director (Trade and Commerce) located in the Chennai Metro City Guindy Industrial Estate.
