The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for heavy rains in 6 Tamil Nadu districts including Thoothukkudi and Virudhunagar.
There has been widespread rain in several districts over the last few days in the State of Tamil |Nadu. In the capita Chennai Metro City, on Saturday (7th November), the weather played a ‘hide-and-seek’ game with alternate sunny and rainy weather! However, yesterday (Sunday, 8th November), it rained only in a few places in the Chennai Metro City!
In this situation, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for rain in Tamil Nadu today (Monday, 9th November).
In a notification regarding this released by the Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, Puviyarasan, it is mentioned
“Due to the change in speed and direction of the monsoon seasonal winds, there are prospects for mild to medium rain in the next 24 hours (today – Monday, 9th November) in a few places in several districts.
There are prospects for heavy rain with lightning and thunder in a few places in the 6 districts of Pudhukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Sivagangai, and Thoothukkudi.
In the next 48 hours, there are prospects of a dry climate in most districts and prospects for mild to medium rain in a few places.
In the next 72 hours, (Wednesday, 11th November), due to the cyclonic form developed in the easterly winds, dry climate will prevail in most districts and there are prospects for mild to medium rains in a few places in the coastal districts.
As regards the Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy. There are prospects for mild rain with lightning and thunder in a few places. The sky will remain cloudy tomorrow. There are prospects for mild rain in a few places.”
