Free books and uniforms to be distributed

Collector Ashish Kumar has said that free textbooks, notebooks and uniforms will be distributed to 80 government and 135 government aided schools.
A total of 24, 100 students of standard VI, 24, 300 of standard VII, 26,500 of standard VIII, 26, 600 of standard IX and 21, 800 of standard X would receive these items from the schools for the current academic year
About 12, 33, 800 text and notebooks had been despatched to these schools of both Tamil and English media of instruction. The officials concerned had been instructed to distribute these items to students at the earliest. Application forms for admission to schools had been provided to 25 students under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, said Mr. Kumar.
