New COVID cases now below 500 for the first time in Chennai

For the first time in 182 days, the new or fresh Covid-19 cases went below 500 in the city of Chennai. Point is that Chennai reported 497 fresh cases yesterday. This has now brought huge hopes in the faces of many. In the last 24 hours, Perambalur district recorded ‘zero’ fresh Coronavirus cases and by that it became the first in TN to achieve that. When compared to last month 60percent less cases get reported every day now and the TN Covid-19 count infection rate is decreasing.

On Monday, 16th November, just 1725 persons tested positive in TN and the number was close to 4400 last month on the same date. Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have been leading the list of number of cases. Information is that TN is now at 4th in this list with as many as 75916 cases. Out of these 4 states in India, TN has got the lowest number of active cases of 15765.

It is important to mention here that the Chennai region continued to account for the maximum number of deaths due to this infection and as many as10 were from Chennai. Information collected is that the neighbouring districts Chengapet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur had 118 fresh cases, 79 cases and 83 cases respectively.
