Citing Covid-19 pandemic, the UGC had reiterated that the arrears examinations cannot be cancelled. It further added that the TN government’s decision in this aspect was against the UGC guidelines.
On Wednesday, the commission made the submission before division bench of Justice M. Sathyanarayanan and Justice R. Hemalatha and this was in response to a public interest writ petition filed by a lawyer t restrain 22 universities in TN from publishing results of students first to pre-finale semesters without conducting arrear examinations. It is important to mention that the court was requested to tag the PIL with an already pending batch of PILls moved against the government order of TN cancelling the exam.
